Tips & Tricks in the kitchen magic wand

Tips & Tricks

  • This is a large batch recipe.  Feel free to halve the quantities, or double for a huge batch.

  • Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 10 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Great for emergency cravings or travel treats.

  • If your dates are a little dry, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes before blending — this gives the caramel layer its soft, fudgy texture.

  • Make your own, or choose an organic peanut butter made with just peanuts (and maybe a pinch of salt). For something softer on the system, almond or cashew butter works beautifully too.

  • Cut cleanly: Use a warm knife to slice once set — run it under hot water and wipe between cuts for neat squares.

  • With no artificial anything, these whole food ingredients keep best in the fridge.

Ideas on how to consume

  • Savour with your favourite cuppa - mine is home blended chai.

  • Enjoy these slowly, appreciating each texture, the sound as you bite through the chocolate and peanuts, and the flavour that bursts onto your tongue.  Make this treat a mindful moment.

  • Pack into a cute box to give as a delicious homemade gift.

  • Pair with a gratitude meditation for a complete self-care moment.
